Yes, this is what my life has come to.
Thanks to my overzealous workouts and a serious case of denial, I've ended up with a tibial stress fracture in my calf. Dammit.
The ortho dude wanted to put me in a cast and crutches. Um, no, it's beach season! Then he offered a removable boot, but that just seems like a big ol' pain in the asseroo. So basically I'm relegated to NO running, NO serious walking, and NO impact workouts for four weeks.
SOooOOOOoooOOOOo... what's a gal to do when she's already registered for a half marathon in November, but suffers from a cracked leggy bone in August, which is supposed to be the beginning of her training schedule?
It's time to get creative.
I see plenty of biking, swimming and of course AQUAJOGGING in my future. Hahaha... it's sort of ridiculous looking and kinda boring, but it sure does wear me out. Thirty minutes, and I was ready to stretch out on a lounge chair and forget that my legs even exist.
Ah, the fun fun fun!
