Ugh. UGh. UGH. What should I do????
The Critz Tybee Runfest rolls around in less than two weeks. February 1st & 2nd, to be exact. It's two days of racing fun. There's a 5K on Friday night, and then a 10K, half marathon, and a fun run (or two) on Saturday. I've got my eye on the half marathon (my favorite distance fer sure!) But OMG, I was so sore and tired after last Saturday's Charleston half marathon, that I don't know if I'm mentally prepared to handle another one this soon.
BUT BUT BUT... if I don't do this one, I don't know when I'll get to do another one because (as far as I know) there isn't anymore close to home for a while.
So, do I put on my big girl Bondi Band and head out?
Let's take a look at the pros and cons:
Pro: I get another t-shirt and medal to add to my collection. And we ALL know that's the reason I do this crap.
Con: I'll have run 13.1 miles. Ugh.
Pro: I can ride with my fast friend Vicki.
Con: My fast friend Vicki will dust me, and I will have to trudge through Tybee on my own. It gets a little lonely out there.
Pro: Last year's Tybee Half was a milestone in my fledgling running life, so it would be great to go back and honor my commitment to this bone-jarring, knee-wrecking hobby.
Con: I will jar my bones and wreck my knees.
Pro: I can wear my fancy new faux-simulated-houndstooth headband...
Con: I will have to get up at the ASS CRACK of dawn to trek down to the island. Our condo is booked for the weekend... a friggin' injustice if you ask me.
Pro: I'll burn off at least 1300 calories.
Con: ????
Okay seriously, is there a con to burning off 1300 calories? NOPE!
So what should I do? Go for it? Get it over with? Love every minute of it?
(I already know the answer.)
;)

Oh,you're going!!!! If you don't...you'll think about it afterwards... (wishing you had). GOOD LUCK!!!!
